HEMINGWAY — Harry Preston Richardson, 84, died Sunday Aug. 17, 2008, in a Florence hospital. Mr Richardson was born in Marion, a son of the late Ruby Lee and Anna Wallace Richardson. He was a retired Department Superintendent for Wellman Industries and farmer. He was a member of Old Johnsonville United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, the American Legion and attended Brittons Neck schools. Surviving are his wife: Sara Cox Richardson of the home; children, Ramona R. (Danny) Parker of Hemingway, and Stephen (Debbie) Richardson of Darlington, grandchildren; Scott Powers of Columbia, Jayson (Brooke) Powers of Little River, Jennifer R. (David) Lee of Aynor, and Jenny Ponton of Clover, great-grandchildren: Brayden Powers of Little River, Madison Lee of Aynor, and Kayla and Tyler Ponton, both of Clover; sisters; Matha Collins of Johnsonville, and Edith R. Ard of Lakeland, Fla.; brother; Marvin (Paula) Richardson of Cocoa, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, in Old Johnsonville United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
