MULLINS — Mr. D.C. Barnhill, Jr., 83 , husband of Betty Anderson Barnhill, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at his home after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 29 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Kirkland, Rev. Willie Gillard, Rev. Jason Brewer and Dr. Kenneth Orbeck officiating. Burial will follow in Hammond Cemetery. Mr. Barnhill was born July 5, 1925 in Horry County, a son of the late Dan C. and Maude Collins Barnhill. He was a retired farmer and an avid gardener. Mr. Barnhill was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Barnhill and in addition to his Wife of 54 years and of the home are: His Children: Larry Barnhill and his wife Pat of Florence, Faye Barnhill Horn of Mullins, Amy Stroud and her husband Doug of Mullins and Danny Barnhill and his wife Lora Anne of Nichols; 5 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandson; and 2 Sisters; Earline Drew of Nichols and Bernice Prince of Fair Bluff, N.C. Mr. Barnhill was predeceased by 6 brothers, J.C. Barnhill, Howard Leroy Barnhill, Kermit Barnhill, Vernon Barnhill, Beamon Barnhill and James Barnhill.
