CONWAY | Marion Danny Herring, 57, of Knotty Branch Road, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Conway Medical Center following an illness. Mr. Herring was born in Conway, South Carolina, a son of the late Leo Marion and Ruby D. Richardson Herring. Mr. Herring was a loving husband, great daddy and grand-daddy, and a devoted Christian. Mr. Herring was a member of Aynor Church of God, and prior to his retirement he was owner and operator of Marion Danny Herring Construction. Mr. Herring was predeceased by a sister, Lilly Herring; and a brother, Willie Ray Herring. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Lee Herring of Conway; one son, Mr. Danny Lee Herring and wife, Christy, of Marion; one daughter, Mrs. Melissa Denise Branton and husband, George, of Conway; four brothers, Leon Herring of Moncks Corner, Harold Herring and wife, Kay, of Effingham, and Ronald Herring and Raymond Herring, both of Conway; one sister, Louise Jordan and husband, Richard, of Conway; three grandchildren, Madison Denise Branton of Conway, and Ashley Nicole Hardee and Bobbie Leigh Grahler, both of Marion; and a sister-in-law, Charity Herring of Conway. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Aynor Church of God with the Rev. Jerry Love and the Rev. Fred Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008 at the funeral home.
