RAINS — Kathryn Rowell Dozier, 79, widow of Tully Mack Dozier Jr., died Saturday, June 24, 2006, in Marion County Medical Center after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Darrell Floyd and the Rev. Hal Norton officiating. Burial will follow in Reedy Creek Cemetery, directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home. Mrs. Dozier was born September 26, 1926, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Thomas Whiteman Rowell and the late Miller Louise Hughes Rowell. Mrs. Dozier was employed with Southern Bell and retired as church secretary for Reedy Creek Baptist Church. She was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church where she was active in the church choir, an active member of the Senior’s Group, Women on Missions and the Prayer Group. Mrs. Dozier also served as secretary for the Marion Baptist Association for 20 years. Surviving Mrs. Dozier are two sons, Guy Dozier and his wife, Jennifer, of Conway and Jim Dozier and his wife, Debra, of Marion; two grandchildren, Russell Dozier and Sims Dozier, both of Conway; and a sister, Carolyn Altman of Charleston. Mrs. Dozier was predeceased by two sisters, Martha Hogan and Jewell Crosby. Memorials may be made to Reedy Creek Baptist Church, 2508 S. Hwy. 501, Marion, SC 29571. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Smith-Collins Funeral Home.
