    2. MYRTLE BEACH | Dick Wilson Clardy, 75, of Peachtree Road died Friday, June 9, 2006 at his residence. Born Dec. 4, 1930 in Horry County, he was a son of the late Arthur Melton and Martha Ella Wilson Clardy. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Clardy served a tour of duty in Germany, where he patroled the Berlin Wall. He also did a tour in Japan. Mr. Clardy was a member of Socastee Baptist Church and was employed with Chapin Company for 28 years. Mr. Clardy was predeceased by three brothers, Wilford Clardy, O.T. Clardy and Joseph Clardy; and one sister, Lois Smith. Surviving are his wife, Joann Clardy of Myrtle Beach; one son, Kenneth Clardy and wife, Melissa, of Marion; two daughters, Renee Clardy Squires and husband, Randy, and Dana Clardy Palm and husband, David, all of Conway; six grandchildren, Russell Clardy and wife, Dana, Crystal Howell and husband, Derek, Kendra Clardy, Jennifer Squires, David Wilson Palm and Colin Palm; four great-grandchildren, Nickalous Howell, Lillian Howell, Jacob Clardy and Megan Collins; and one brother, Harold Clardy of Myrtle Beach. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006 from Socastee Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
