MARION — Mrs. Florence Eleanor West Leopold, 85, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at her home after an illness. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, in Devotion Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, June 12, from 6:00 p.m. until 8: 00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Leopold was born in Stovall, NC, a daughter of the late Eugene W. West and Bertha Earl West. She was also predeceased by her husband, John Patrick Leopold. Mrs. Leopold had retired from Sara Lee where she managed the Employer’ s Store. She was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star and the Pilot Club. Mrs. Leopold is survived by her son, Col. Kenneth E. Stokes (Ret.) and his wife, Pat, of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Sally Wiggins and her husband, Pat, of Florence, SC, and Trisha Brown and her husband, Mike, of Mullins, SC; two sisters, Jean Cutchin and her husband, Tom, of Suffolk, VA, and Norma Bullard of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren, Kimberly Stokes and Jennifer Stokes Miller, both of Texas, Scott Wiggins of Florence, Brooke Wiggins Hawkins of Indiana, Ashley Brown McCormick of Little River, and Amanda Brown James of Marion; and four great-grandchildren.
