MULLINS — Mrs. Martha Martin Harrelson, 77, wife of Mitchell M. Harrelson, died Friday, June 2, 2006, in Marion County Medical Center after an illness. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, in Devotion Gardens Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve Bailey and the Rev. Chip Scruggs officiating. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Mrs. Harrelson was born June 24, 1928, in Marion County, a daughter of the late James Walter and Mattie Brown Martin. She was a homemaker and loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Harrelson was a member of Gapway Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Adult Choir and a member of the WMU. Surviving Mrs. Harrelson in addition to her husband of the home, are her children, Robert Harrelson of Mullins, Barbara Baker of Mullins, Nancy Collins of Mullins and Teresa Crowley of Myrtle Beach; her grandchildren, Summer, Jeanna, Carmen, Mitch, Matthew and Amelia; her great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ian and Mallory; and 4 sisters, Ellen Marsh of Conway, Suzannah Harrelson of Mullins, Pauline Wright of Raleigh, N.C. and Catherine Lawrimore of Summerville. Mrs. Harrelson was predeceased by 3 sisters, Eloise Carter, Etha Belle Crawford Hines and Doretha Brown.
