James Purley Hardee, Sr. 89 passed away on March 11, 2009 at Smithfield Manor. Mr. Hardee is originally from Goose Creek, South Carolina and worked in the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was originally born in Conway, SC. He was the son of Julius B. Hardee and Ella Allen Hardee. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Alma S. Hardee; daughters, Shelby J. Fisher and her husband Phil of Goose Creek, Virginia D. Hardee and family of Marion, SC; sons, James P. Hardee, Jr. and wife Vicki of Goose Creek, SC, David J. Hardee and Alan Winburn of Smithfield, six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
