MARION — Mr. Gary Edward McLaughlin, 62, died peacefully in his sleep on March 23, 2009, at his home in Marion, SC, surrounded by family. Gary was born in Geneva, NY, on May 22, 1947, son of Phylis McLaughlin of Geneva, NY, and the late Eddie McLaughlin. He is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Peggy Derr-McLaughlin of Marion, SC, sister: Gracie Moore and Bruce of Geneva, NY, sister: Gail Smith and Bob, of Rochester, NY, son Gary McLaughlin, Jr. and wife, Dorothy of Camillus, NY, daughter: Wendy Bohrer and husband, tony of Waterloo, NY, daughter:Michelle Moulton and husband Paul of Waterloo, NY, stepson Randy Derr and wife, Robin of Marion, SC, stepson, Allen Derr of Geneva, NY, stepson: Doug Derr of Lyons, NY, stepdaughter: Brenda Baker and Mike of Havelock, NC, stepdaughter: Melanie Klem and husband, Nick of Clayton, NC, twenty grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Gary was an avid NASCAR fan, loved motor cycles, hunting, fishing, boating, and gardening. He was a member of St. Stephens Church in Geneva, NY, as well as the local MOOSE CLUB, and SONS OF ITALY.
