MARION — Helen M. Zeman, 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. She was born February 19, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late Francisco Maggipinto and Marie Pugliese Maggipinto. Helen Zeman was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church. She was an avid golfer, gardner and loved fishing. She was a devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Survivors include Freddie Zeman, her husband of 71 years; three daughters, Eleanore Z. Barlow of Myrtle Beach, Pat Z. (Jack) Bethea of Florence and Jody Z. (Harry) Lide of Lexington; two sons, Teddy (Angie) Zeman of Marion and Robert (Terri) Zeman of Columbia; and a sister, Dolores Maggipinto of Westwood, N.J.; along with several nieces and nephews and a very special niece, Laney Baumrind. Mrs. Zeman also had 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, March 12, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Smith-Collins Funeral Home of Marion. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, March 13 at the Chapel of Smith-Collins Funeral Home with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
