MARION — Mr. Julian Ottis Brown, 71, husband of Mickey Culipher Brown, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at Marion County Medical Center after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 17 at the Chapel of Smith-Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Watkins and Rev. Allan Black officiating. Burial will follow in New Life Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born June 16, 1934, in Marion County, a son of the late Rufus R. and Tommie Proctor Brown. He was an automobile mechanic. Surviving Mr. Brown in addition to his wife of the home are his children: Dwayne Brown of Dillon, Kevin Brown and his wife Karen of Marion, Dale Brown and his wife Libby of Marion, Susan B. Dunn of Marion and Robin Reason and her husband Rusty of Marion; 10 grandchildren: Meagan Dunn, Joseph Dunn, Cody Reason, Christopher Brown, Brandon Brown, Bradley Brown, Steven Brown, April Brown, Brian Brown and Kristin Brown; and 3 sisters: Lillian Williamson of Conway, Nell Vestal of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Judy Smithey of Marion. Mr. Brown was predeceased by 3 brothers, Howard Brown, Aubrey Brown and Palmer Brown and 3 sisters, Victorine Brown, Josephine Windham and Irene Richardson. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 7 til 9 p.m. at Smith-Collins Funeral Home.
