LAKE VIEW, S.C. - Mrs. Roberta Glee "Babe" Cole Foreman Herring, 95, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon after a brief stay. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins. Inurnment will follow in Elliott Cemetery. Mrs. Herring was born January 13, 1911, in Clearfield, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Carrie Cole. She had formerly resided at Thorne Retirement Home in Lake View since 1996 and was presently at The Pines Nursing Home in Dillon. Mrs. Herring was a member of Union Baptist Church in Temperance Hill, S.C. Mrs. Herring was predeceased by her first husband, Bud Foreman and her second husband, William B. Herring. Surviving are: two beloved adopted nephews, Michael Foreman, Jr., and Brian Foreman, both of Conway; three stepsons, William Arnold Herring and his wife Louise of Atlanta, Ga., Winford Steve Herring and his wife Judy of Lake View and Everette Earl "Sammy" Herring and his wife Sarah of Dillon; three step-daughters, Eula Faye Herring of Cottageville, S.C., Linda Altman and her husband Tom of Cottageville and Rebecca Diane "Sue" Wood and her husband Kelly of Moncks Corner; 24 step-grandchildren and 21 step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Herring was also predeceased by a step-son, James Eldred Herring and a step-daughter, Shelby Jean Turner.
