CONWAY | Mr. George Richardson entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 1, 2006. Born Mar. 7, 1936 in Marion County, he was the son of Watkin and Ethel Richardson. He was an educator, businessman and administrator for many years. He served as Pres. of Horry County Black Caucus, Unit and Iota Lambda Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. He also served on the Forestry and Zoning Appeals Comm. for Horry County, the Horry County Solid Waste Authority Board and the CRPTA-Wacc. Reg. Trans. Authority Board, known as LYMO. Mr. Richardson is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia Winns Richardson; 11 children, Bernice Richardson of Philadelphia, Daryl (Ethel) Richardson of San Antonio, Mendez Richardson of Atlanta, Ezzard Richardson of Kingstree, Rhonda (Michael) Webb of Raleigh, N.C., Evander (Laetitia) Gerald of Naperville, Ill., Eric Goodwin of Iraq, Rhononda Richardson of Atlanta, Jennifer Gamble of Greelyville, and Brandon and Shari Wright of Loris; two stepchildren, Kirk (Bridget) Winns and Altamese Reed, both of Georgetown; three brothers, James (Nora) Richardson and Larry (Wanda) Richardson, both of Chesapeake, Va., and Pittman Richardson of Philadelphia; three sisters, Betty Duncan, Helen (Roland) King, and Bershel (Alexander) Landsay, all of Philadelphia; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 3, 2006 from Friendship Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Rose Hill Memorial Garden.
