HAMILTONs & WIGGINS.......... Does anyone have info on the early HAMILTONS prior to or in addition to W.W.Sellers book??? ..... Where were they before comong to Liberty/Marion???..... I found a land abstract for Francis and Lydia Hamilton of 1799..... There is a David and John HAMILTON in the 1800 census..... On an 1815 map of Marion Co., southeast of what is now Dillon, are two Hamilton surnames at Maple Swamp. There are also two WIGGINS in the Wahee area on this same map.... In the 1850 Marion Census there is a John HAMILTON b/about 1786 with wife Martha. The eldest child is Charity b/1810. The next child listed is Flora b/1832. (That gives a 22 year span. Was there a previous marriage for John? Who is Martha??)...... My WIGGINS surname doesn't connect until a Elizabeth Mattie/Martha WIGGINS b/1870 m/1890 Evandore HAMILTON B/1866. Their first son, John Gaston HAMILTON was b/1891 in Dillon. They migrated to the Sumter/Tattnall Co., of GA before their second son Lila Henry was b/in 1893...... Any assistance appreciated. Audrey
