    3. BRITTONS NECK The Rev. Algie Lawson The Rev. Algie A. Lawson, 89, widower of Corrie Belle Nelson Lawson, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at Marion Nursing Center after an illness. He was born Feb. 24, 1912, in Laurens County, a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth McCravy Lawson. He was a Baptist minister and retired after serving as pastor for over 50 years in churches in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. He was a graduate of Furman University and Southwestern Seminary. He was a member of Nebo Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Lynette Lawson Reason and her husband, Wayne, of Brittons Neck and Aileene Lawson Tuten and her husband, Wilbur, of Estill; four grandchildren, Susan Hartzog and her husband, Brian, of Rincon, Ga., Sam Tuten and his wife, Kim, of Pamplico, Ricky Burch and his wife, Carrie, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Tonya Wollschleger and her husband, Jason, of Rochester, N.Y.; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two half brothers, Clyde O'Shields and Herbert O'Shields. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Smith-Collins Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Nebo Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Hancock will officiate. Burial will be in Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery.
