Winnie L. Strickland Winnie Bell LeGette Strickland, 78, of Murrells Inlet, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 17, 1923, in Rains-Centenary, a daughter of the late Willie Blue and Exa Mae Crawford LeGette. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was a member of Baskerville Senior Center. Survivors include three sons, Lemuel L. "Bug" Strickland Jr. and Wayne Strickland both of Murrells Inlet and Billy Strickland of St. Delight; two daughters, Janie S. Gause of Surfside Beach and Debbie Strickland of Murrells Inlet; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Lottie Point of Pawleys Island. She was predeceased by a her husband, Lemuel L. Strickland Sr.; a daughter, Linda Bell Cook; and a grandson, Daniel Strickland. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Belin Memorial Cemetery.
