Charleston Post Courier 8 November 2001 FLORENCE, S.C. - Sylvia Jean Garfinkle Fass, 90, a former longtime resident of Dillon, S.C., died on Saturday, November 3, 2001, in Albuquerque, N.M. She was born in New York City, N.Y. She was a buyer for Arnold Constable Department Store before moving to South Carolina where she managed Rosemor Properties in Dillon County. She was a member of Dillon garden and book clubs and was a member of the Beth Israel Congregation in Florence, S.C. Known for her great culinary skills, she was always there to help those in crisis at St. Eugene Hospital, especially those who had no family in the area. Mrs. Fass, the wife of the late Harry Fass, is survived by her children, Robert Morris Fass of Albuquerque, N.M., and Marjorie Lauren Fass of Ellicott City, Md.; grandchildren, David Fass, Michael Fass, Jonathan Fass, Daniel Fass, Andrew Rabinowitz and Allison Rabinowitz; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Muriel Rad of Plantation City, Fla. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, November 11, 2001, in the Hebrew Benevolent Society Cemetery, Church Street, Florence, S.C.
