Nov 14, 2001 Liston Calvin Cook Jr. CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- On Monday, Nov. 12, 2001 after 69 years of working hard and laughing often, Liston "Buck" Calvin Cook Jr. passed away. Family and friends will join together for a visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. today at First United Pentecostal Church, 4929 N. Sharon Amity Road. On Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. funeral services will be at the church. Born in Dillon to parents Mollie Lane and Liston Calvin Cook Sr., Buck worked heard all his life to provide for his family and himself. Buck had recently retired from Stanley Lab, but continued to work delivering medical supplies to elderly and homebound clients. Buck is survived by his wife, Donna Cook of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Tracie Cook of Charlotte, a student at ECU; daughter, Debra Todd and husband Dale of Loris; daughter, Brenda Williams and husband Ricky of Nakina, N.C.; daughter Linda Coleman and husband Anthony of Fork; son, Bobby Cook and wife Faye of Darlington; stepdaughter Kellie Johnson and husband Roland Jr. of Concord, N.C.; stepson Bud Reed of Nathan's Creek, N.C.; sister Lila Caulder of Latta; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his hungry dog, Shiloh. Buck is missed by his family and friends. His easy laughter, constant humor, and innumerable stories about Grandma Pa, Aunt El, and life on the farm will echo in our heads and hearts. As he pain of mourning lessens and we go on with our everyday lives, we will carry a piece of him in ourselves and will be better people because of it.
