The Rev. Francis G. Barnhill The Rev. Francis Gilbert Barnhill, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at Marion County Medical Center after an illness. He was born in Brittons Neck, a son of the late Agnes Cribb and Ole Evan Barnhill. He was ordained at High Point Baptist Church in December of 1951. He served as minister for Bakers Chapel Baptist Church, Collins Creek Baptist Church and Wampee Baptist Church, all in Horry County. He also served as minister for Tyger Baptist Church in Tigerville, White Level Baptist Church in Louisburg, N.C., Springhill Baptist Church in Canton, N.C., and Oakley Baptist Church in Asheville, N.C. He was a graduate of both North Greenville College and Furman University. He received a bachelor of Divinity with Language from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served in the Army from 1944 to 1946 and received the Army Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, a Good Conduct medal and the World War II Victory medal. He was a member of Marion Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Estaline Jordan Barnhill; two sons, Timothy E. Barnhill of Boalsburg, Pa., and Albert O. Barnhill of Marion; two daughters, Linda Barnhill Norvell of Wilmington, N.C., and Donna Barnhill Hinson of West Palm Beach, Fla; two brothers, Carrol Barnhill of Johnsonville and Stanley Barnhill of Aiken; six sisters, Lonita Spivey of Charleston, Louise Smoak of Greenville, Virginia Jordan and Alda Jordan, both of Conway, Charlotte Cherry of Knoxville, Tenn., and Hazel Adams of Colorado; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marion Baptist Church. Burial will be in High Point Baptist Church Cemetery in Jordanville.
