I would sure like to take you up on that offer. Sorry our surnames don't coincide, at least on the surface. Please post your answer on the list, or write me directly to let me know if you have time to search for deeds taken from SC abstracts.. Be glad to pay for copying and postage. Know your research takes precedence, but finding my g-g-father's lineage has become almost a crusade with me. I'm hoping the key in unlocking the door to the John CRAWFORD's in that area might lie in one of those deeds. Or at least, it will help decide if my particular CRAWFORD is not a descendant of that particular line. Everyone on this list knows the name of my ancestor, Mahalaleel/Mahaleal CRAWFORD, and have helped me find abstracts of probates which gives very convincing evidence to support his being s/o one James CRAWFORD who died before 1804, widow Mary. His name does appear on records in Marion Co on certain records, given name usually s little differently, but also the Bibical spelling as well.. Thanks for your offter to the list.
