Spivey, James `Buddy` Everett CONCORD -- Mr. James `Buddy` Everett Spivey, 59, of 863 Kathryn Drive, SE, died Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at NorthEast Medical Center. He was born December 1, 1941 in Marlboro County, SC, son of Eva Spivey and the late William Hubert Spivey. He was a truck driver for Carolina Freight, USF Holland, a member of Teamsters Local #71, East Coast Riders and Yadkin Valley Riders and Pee Dee Street Riders. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at Howell's Baptist Church, Concord, Rev. Marvin Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home-Concord. Surviving are his daughter, Michelle Davis of Cheraw, SC; his mother, Eva Shoemake Spivey of Bennettsville, SC; brother, Jim Martin Spivey of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Betty Ludwig and Joyce Spivey of Bennettsville, SC and Rhonda Dowdy of Malkuff, TX; granddaughter, Amanda Blake Davis of Cheraw, SC; step-daughter, Tirzah Faile of Darlington, SC; step-son, Ganem Kurt Cartwright of Cheraw, SC; loving companion, Linda Green; and special friend, Jerry Shumate. Mr. Spivey was preceded in death by a brother, John William Spivey and grandson, Joshua Davis. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
