.CONWAY Leon J. Alford Sr. Leon Jehu Alford Sr., 91, of Lakeside Drive, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Conway Nursing Center after an illness. He was born Oct. 23, 1910, in Horry County, a son of the late Ashley Levi and Carrie Page Alford. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conway and retired from Conway Auto Parts as a precision mechanic after 51 years of service. He was a member of Woodman of the World and Masonic Lodge No. 65 in Conway for more than 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Juanita S. Alford of Conway; two sons, Leon J. Alford Jr. of Plantation, Fla., and John Alford and his wife, Mearlyn of Charleston; two sisters, Ida Alford Hardwick of Aynor and Sallie Alford Rogers of Columbia; and two grandchildren, Jason Alford and Ashley Alford. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Hadden will officiate
