Mattie L. Rabon Mattie L. Rabon, 85, wife of the late Henry M. Rabon, of the Pauley Swamp Section of Horry County, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. She was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Richard Avant and Sara Jane Tucker Lawrimore. She was a homemaker and an avid church worker. She was a member of Pauley Swamp Baptist Church for 72 years and was the oldest member of the church. During this 72 years, she served as an adult Sunday school teacher and worked closely with the young people and Bible school programs. Survivors include two sons, Raeford Rabon and his wife, Lola, of Columbia and Danny Rabon and his wife, Scarlett, of Marion; three daughters, Betty Rabon Eason and her husband, Danny, of Murrells Inlet, Sandi Rabon Ammons and her husband, Butch, of Myrtle Beach and Dr. Sherrill Rabon Loring and her husband, David, of North Augusta; 14 grandchildren, Jenifer Thompkins Angus of Murrells Inlet, Jamie Thompkins of Conway, Julie Eason Campbell of Clemson, Alton Rabon of Columbia, Kimberly Rabon Purvis of Fredricksburg, Va., Ashlee Ammons Rogers, Aimee Ammons and Tracey Rabon Thomas, all of Myrtle Beach, Sarah Loring, Rachel Loring, Leah Loring and Jason Loring all of North Augusta, April Rabon and Chad Rabon, both of Marion; and eleven great-grandchildren, Jenny Angus, Jessica Angus, Kayleigh Rogers, Kasey Rogers, Jake Thompkins, Taylor Thompkins, Jillian Campbell, Shelby Purvis, Savannah Purvis, Kylie Purvis and Jackson Purvis. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The funeral will be at 11:30 Tuesday at Pauley Swamp Baptist Church. Dr. Terry Grainger will officiate.
