Ms. Caulder died November 23, 2001. Born in Marion County, she was a daughter of Shelby Graham Purvis and the late Carlyle Caulder. Surviving are her daughter, Erica Joyner; son, Daniel Joyner; mother; grandfather, Wallace Graham; half sisters, Sheryl Inabinet, Lynn Martin, Christine Rogers; half brothers, Raymond Caulder, Wallace Caulder; stepbrothers, Edward, Paul and Keith Purvis.
