The Sun News Mabel E. Creighton Mabel Edwards Creighton, 78, wife of John Thomas Creighton Sr., died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Conway Hospital after an illness. She was born June 4, 1923, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Ernest Gary Edwards and Isabelle Workman Edwards. She was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the Celia Perritt Circle of Macedonia and Macedonia United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Melvin L. Creighton and his wife, Karen T., of Myrtle Beach; and two sisters, Frances E. McMillan of Myrtle Beach and Pauline E. Buck of Isle of Palms. She was predeceased by two sons, John Thomas Creighton Jr. and Gary Edwards Creighton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cedardale Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Frey will officiate. Memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 301 E.
