Hello List! Mildred, I am so glad that you shared the Sullivan Ballou letter. I apologize for the sarcasm and rude comments that some on this list made to you. Frankly, this letter reminds me that this is how it felt to fight a war, never mind which side. I too had relatives who fought for the Confederate side, and some I'm sure who fought for the Union side. War isn't pretty for anyone. Thanks for this bit of history.
