The Sun News 7/4/2001 Fleetie M. Hayes Fleetie McDaniels Hayes, 84, widow of Wilford Atlas Hayes, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at Marion County Medical Center after an illness. She was born Oct. 16, 1916, in Horry County, a daughter of the late Solomon Walker McDaniels and Effie McDaniels McDaniels. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of Wannamaker Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Hayes Lewis Deaton and her husband, Bobby, of Troutman, N.C.; two grandsons, Milton Clayton Lewis of Mullins and Jimmy Atlas Kay Lewis of Charlotte, N.C.; a granddaughter, Carla Faye Lewis Daniels of Marion; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a stepson, Leo Hayes. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
