Mildred, I agree with Doris and Linda. It was a beautiful letter, and thank you for sharing it with us. When I read it, I thought that it could have been written by anyone on either side of that terrible war. Being born and raised in Michigan, there is a lot about that war that I wasn't aware of, and I've learned a lot about, mainly from researching my family. I may be a yankee, by birth, but my mother was born in Virgina, with her family in the same area since before the Rev. War, and my father was born in Florida, and his father was born in Marlboro Co., S. C. I just consider myself a misplaced Southerner.
