The State (Columbia): Saturday, June 30, 2001 Hoyt Lewis MULLINS (--) Graveside services for Hoyt Edward Lewis, 79, will be held at 2 p.m. today in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Meares Funeral Home is in charge. Mr. Lewis died June 27, 2001. Born in Horry County, he was a son of the late Sam and Margie Causey Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a World War II Army veteran serving during D-Day through to VE Day. Surviving are son, Robert "Bob" Lewis of Lumberton, N.C.; sister, Ila Stacey of Cool Springs; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; beloved friend, Ms. Clara Herrington.
