Friday June 29, 2001 Grace Gresham Walker Grace Gresham Walker, 91, widow of Dixon Walker, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Carolina Hospital after an illness. She was born Jan. 28, 1910, in Greenville, a daughter of the late Ernest G. and Tweety S. Gresham. She was a member of the Marion girls basketball team that played for a national championship in 1924 in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Marion High School in 1928. She was a member of Marion First United Methodist Church where she taught in the youth division for 20 years. She was also one of the first ladies to serve on the First United Methodist Church Board. She received the Outstanding Award from the United Methodist Women and was a life member of the Winesett Sunday school class. Survivors include two sons, James G. Walker and Thomas D. Walker, both of Marion; four grandchildren, Gregg Walker of Marion, Anne W. Norwood of Florence, Nancy W. Zastawnik of Marion and Jill W. Hindman of Florence; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sisters, Thelma G. Pearson, Delia G. Stackhouse, Lib G. Stackhouse and Virginia G. Richardson; and five brothers, John A. Gresham, Ernest G. Gresham Jr., Harry Gresham, Billy Gresham and Marvin Gresham. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Richardson Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O.
