Elizabeth Covington FLORENCE -- Services for Elizabeth Smith Covington, 97, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of the Methodist Manor of the Pee Dee, Twin Church Road, Florence. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. in Hebron Cemetery near Clio. Friends may call at the home of Anna Hazel Wilson, 516 W. Carolina Avenue, Hartsville or the home of Carlisle T. Smith, 204 Katherine St., Bennettsville. Whitner-Evans Funeral Home is in charge. Mrs. Covington, widow of Thomas Gibson Covington, died Sunday, October 14, 2001. Born in Clio, she was a daughter of the late William Charles and Bessie Traywick Smith. She attended Columbia College and taught school for many years in Hartsville and Wallace, N.C. She had retired from Florida Southern College, Lakeland, Fla. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the D.A.R. She was an intitial resident of the Methodist Manor of Florence. Surviving are sister, Anna Hazel Wilson of Hartsville; brother, Carlisle T. Smith of Bennettsville; nephew, nieces and their families
