Thurman J. King Thurman Joseph King, 78, of Longwood Lane, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Conway Hospital. He was born in Conway, a son of the late Allard F. and Dell Jordan King. He was a Baptist and an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed with Dargan Construction before his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Clara Lewis King; two sons, Joe King and Keith King, both of Conway; two stepsons, Jimmy Lewis and Lamar Lewis, both of Conway; two stepdaughters, Helen Holley of Conway and Grace Proctor of Garden City Beach; five brothers, Howard King, Bill King, Junior King, Donald King and John King, all of Conway; four sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Mary Frances Dusenbury, both of Myrtle Beach and Mazie Brown and Estelle Lewis, both of Conway; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. today at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Hillcrest Mausoleum Chapel. The Rev. Kirk Lawton will officiate. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rhue's Mortuary in Conway. The Rev. Woodrow Jones will officiate.
