    1. [SCMARION-L] Re: Parents of Lewis Gordon Barfield
    2. In reply to Al Munden, You are absolutely correct, Al. Parkey Barfield is not buried at the Elvington/Barfield Cemetery on Nobles Road. Rather, his first wife Artie is buried there. Parkey is buried at the William H. Hayes Cemetery (called the Parker Barfield Cemetery in the Dillon Cemetery Book), just off Hwy #41 in Kemper Community. He is buried with his apparent second and third wives, Olie Sparkman and Flossie Sanderson. Dumb mistake on my part, and I regret any confusion my misstatement may have caused. I don't have any information on William Barfield's daughter Minnie, except what I found in the deed and sent to the list. I would suppose that Minnie, like Lewis Gordon, was probably a younger child, born after the 1880 census. I will address your comments about locations in the next message. I have only got the children of Wm Barfield from the 1880 census plus Lewis Gordon, do you know when Minnie was born (the one you identify in the deed book) ? Pardon all the questions but it's hard to follow where everyone lived from here in Va, maybe I need to spend some time at the courthouse. It seems like there were several marriages between the Prices and the Elvingtons so I assumed that they probably lived very near to each other - so much for assumptions !! Al Munden
