Charles McLaurin Jr. CLIO -- Services for Charles Howard McLaurin Jr., 88, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hebron Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Whitner-Evans Funeral Home. Mr. McLaurin died Sunday, October 21, 2001. Born in Marlboro County, he was a son of the late Charles Howard Sr. and Mary Woodley McLaurin. He retired as a Captain from the U.S. Army in 1962 and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He had retired from the U.S. Civil Service and was a member of Clio Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Aurora Masonic Lodge #33 A.F.M. He was married to the late Marle Ellermann McLaurin. Surviving are sons, Charles Thomas McLaurin of Clio, Charles Howard McLaurin III of Dillon; daughter, Julia L. Johnson of Lake View; sisters, Betty Wallace of Albany, Ga. and Mary Alma Hubbard of Clio; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
