NICHOLS Kathleen O. Johnson Kathleen Owens Johnson, 70, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at Loris Community Hospital after an illness. She was born March 27, 1931, in Horry County, a daughter of the late Daniel William and Lillian McCracken Owens. She was the widow of James Franklin Johnson Sr. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a homemaker and was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday school class. Survivors include two sons, James Mitchell Johnson and his wife, Joyce, of Aynor and James Franklin Johnson Jr. and his wife, Sherry, of Nichols; four daughters, Betty Johnson Shelley and her husband, Sheldon G., of Florence, Kathy Johnson Murray and her husband, Eddie, of Seneca, Wanda Johnson Bullock of Marion and Miriam Johnson Richardson and her husband, Chuck, of Andrews; a sister, May Beth Owens Stroud of Mullins; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Linda Kathleen Johnson and Sandra Ann Johnson McCormick. The funeral will be at 6 tonight at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. The Rev. Thomas Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Building Fund, 535 Nichols Highway S., Nichols, SC 29581. Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins is in charge.
