Hubert L. Hardwick Hubert Leo Hardwick, 84, of Juniper Bay Road, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Conway Hospital. He was born July 7, 1917, a son of the late Newberry and Carrie Johnson Hardwick. He was a native of Horry County and lived in the Juniper Bay section. He was a retired farmer, and he retired from Hardwick's Landscaping in February. He was a charter member of Freeworship Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and trustee. He was devoted and was respected by church, family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ruby Hardwick; three sons, Truitt Hardwick and his wife, Grace, and Winford Hardwick, all of Conway, and Johnny Hardwick of North Myrtle Beach; three daughters, Sarah Jo Jordan and her husband, Ringle, of North Myrtle Beach, Helen Long and her husband, Barney, of Wampee, and Jo Lane Strickland and her husband, Joe, of Conway; a brother, Dan Hardwick and his wife, Frances, of Conway; a sister, Elise Todd of Conway; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a son, Billy F. Hardwick; a granddaughter, Tammy Long; a sister, Ethel Skipper and two brothers, Purify Hardwick and David Hardwick. The funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Freeworship Freewill Baptist Church. The Revs. James McElveene, Paul Lambert and Gregg Cannon officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
