Larry H. Strickland Larry Howard Strickland, 50, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, in a boating accident in Winyah Bay. He was born June 8, 1951, in Marion County, a son of the late Tolar Strickland and Dulah Barnhill Strickland. He grew up in Horry County and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was an employee of Georgetown Electric Motor Service and was an avid shrimper and fisherman. He attended Graves Southern Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Edna Gasque Strickland; two sons, Archie L. Strickland of Georgetown and H. Larry Strickland of Spartanburg; a brother, Rea "Buddy" Strickland of Nichols; three sisters, Linda McLeod of Loris, Dulah May Martin of Aynor and Annie Rushing of Nichols; and three grandchildren, Allison Strickland and Taylor Strickland, both of Georgetown, and Reanna Strickland of Conway. He was predeceased by a brother, Archie Strickland, and a sister, Sadie Caroll. Visitation was Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home in Georgetown. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Graves Southern Baptist Church in Georgetown. The Rev. Michael S. Miller and Michael E. Goude will officiate. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
