    3. MARION Jimmie R. Boatwright Jimmie Rowell Boatwright, 87, widow of Jack G. Boatwright Sr., died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Conway Nursing Center after an illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1914, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Dave and Addie Thomas Rowell. She was elected treasurer of Marion County in 1966 and held the office until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the S.C. Association of Auditors, Treasurers and Tax Collectors. She served on the Marion County Registration Board from 1950 to 1966. In 1988, she was chosen Citizen of the Year by Woodmen of the World. She was a graduate of Marion High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marion, where she was a member of United Methodist Women and the Lem Winesett Sunday school class and had served on the Administrative Board and the Finance Committee. Survivors include a son, Jack G. Boatwright Jr. and his wife, Wilmarie, of Conway; four grandchildren, Dr. Russell A. Boatwright of Conway, Frank Y. Boatwright Jr. of Florence, Michael Boatwright of Marion and Tammy Boatwright Duryea of HIlton Head; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Frank Y. Boatwright, two sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Smith-Collins Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Marion. The Revs. Dennis Lee and T. Reginald Thaxton will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
