MARION — Joseph Carole Williams, 62, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at his home after an illness. Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 4 at the home of Ray and Hazel Hatchell, 1542 Dudley Road in the Temperance Hill Community of Marion, SC. Mr. Williams was born in Marion, a son of late Colonel and Sara Coleman Williams. He is also predeceased by a sister, Emily Lou Williams. He is retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation and also was a Horse Farrier for 20 years. Mr. Williams was a graduate of Rains High School. Surviving are his wife, Kay Frances Hatchell Williams of the home; daughters, Krista Jackson Jordan and her husband, Chris of Florence, and Samantha Ileen Williams of the home; and by a sister Gail McCaskill and her husband, Smith of Bethune, SC; and two grandsons, Gage and Collin Reye Jordan.
