DILLON — MSGT Holmes Mishue, 79, retired died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at his residence after an illness. Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Cooper Funeral Home. Born in Robeson County, NC, June 30, 1929, he was the son of the late Bess Mishue and Oda Jane Stone Mishue. He was a S.C. National Guardsman for 26 years, retired Forman of the Dillon Company for 57 years, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, a member of the City of Dillon Fire Department for 32 years, past member of the Safety Officers Club, and past master of the Mackey Lodge # 77AFM. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Daniels Mishue of Dillon; son, Nelson Holmes (Teresa) Mishue of Dillon; step-sons, Russell (Miranda) Williams of Dillon, and Anthony (Mendy) Johnson of Hartsville; daughter, Angela Hooks of Mullins; step-daughters, Tammie Norton of Dillon, Dena (Earl) Dowling of Darlington, Sheila (Lenneau) Berry of Latta; sister, Geraldine (Ray) Carter of Dillon; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
