MARION - Willie Cooper, 66, husband of Ann Taylor Cooper, died Sunday, August 9, 2009, at his home after an illness. He was born July 27, 1943, in Horry County, a son of the late Liston and Bertha Hucks Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a retired electrician and attended Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Cooper is addition to his wife of the home are: his Children: Willie (Vickie) Cooper Jr. of Sellers, Crystal (Kelly Ray Hopkins) Chockley of Sellers, Lisa (George) McDowell of Blenheim and Jason (Marie) Cooper of Sellers; 3 Grandchildren: Clay Chockley, Lee McDowell and Wesley McDowell: 3 Brothers: Davis (Margie) Cooper of Marion, C.L. (Mirinda) Cooper of Marion and Charlie (Mary) Cooper of High Point, N.C.; a Sister: Margaret (Donnie) Brown of Marion; and several loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Cooper was predeceased by a Son-in-Law, Perry Chockley. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 12 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins, with Rev. Terry Brown and Rev. Art Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Cox - Collins Funeral Home of Mullins. Published in the Morning News on 8/11/2009
