    2. CONWAY | Juanita Spears Bruton Harper, 84, wife of Eugene A. Harper Sr., of Hwy 701 South, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Mrs. Harper was born in Marion, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Pearson Fredrick and Missouri Smith Spears. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Collins Department Store and Peebles Department Store as Office Manager. Mrs. Harper also worked with Conway Hospital as Office Manager. She was a member of The Conway Pilot Club where she served as president two different terms. Mrs. Harper was predeceased by a son, Eugene A. Harper Jr. Surviving in addition to her husband of Conway; are two sons, Ray Harper and Thomas Harper both of Conway; four grandchildren, Julie Harper Rachiel, Nicholas Harper, Bridgette Harper and Chadwick Harper; one great-grandchild, Lukas Rachiel; special niece, Anne Workman of Atlanta, Ga.; and special nephew, Carl Smith Jr. of Columbia. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the funeral home.
