FLORENCE — Mrs. Bessie Allen Sanderson, 83, widow of Paul Sanderson and formerly of Mullins, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was born February 12, 1925 in Apalachicola, Florida, a daughter of the late John C. and Iris Peddie Allen. Mrs. Sanderson, along with her husband Paul, owned and operated the Mullins Bakery for many years. She was a lifelong member of Mullins First Baptist Church until moving to Florence, where she attended Church at Sandhurst. Surviving Mrs. Sanderson are: her children: Ron Sanderson and his wife Joyce of Florence, Don Sanderson and his wife Judi of Nichols, Gail S. Grice of Florence, Paula L. Sanderson of Florence and Steven A. Sanderson of North Myrtle Beach; her Grandchildren: Paul Sanderson and his wife Melissa, Craig Sanderson, Laura Grice, Amy Stokes and her husband Will, Jason Grice, Allen Sanderson, Austin Sanderson, Matthew Sanderson, Aaron Sanderson and Grace Sanderson; 2 Great Grandchildren: Bradley Clark and Sydney Sanderson; and 2 Sisters: Julia Allen of Apalachicola, Fl. and Connie Hicks of Winter Springs, Fl. Mrs. Sanderson was predeceased by a brother, John Willard Allen and a sister, Olis A. Page.
