    2. AYNOR — Mrs. Pauline M. Lewis, age 79, of Huggins Shortcut Road, went home to be with her Lord, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Lewis was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Eva Thigpen. She was predeceased by her husband Sam Junior Lewis, three sisters: Ada Pearl Goude, Eunice Gray, Annie Mae Haynes, four brothers: Bill McCutcheon, James Edward McCutcheon, Franklin McCutcheon, and J.A. Mac McCutcheon. Pauline owned and operated Paulines Flower Shop in Aynor for 30 years. She was a faithful working member of Aynor First Baptist Church for 53 years. She served as secretary, Sunday school and training union teacher, WMU director for many years, vacation bible school principle from 1961-1991, and she sang in the choir. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Order of The Eastern star, Order of the Amaranth and was Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. (She looked well to the ways of her household, and ate not the bread of idleness. Her children rose up, and called her blessed, her husband praised her as a virtuous woman. Many daughters have done virtuously, but she excelled them all). Mrs. Pauline was a mother of five children, the wind beneath their wings. Three sons Kenneth E. Lewis (Karen) of Marion, Jesse E. Lewis (Debbie) of Conway, Michael Wayne Lewis (Wanda) of Galivants Ferry, two daughters, Linda L. Johnson (Mike) of Aynor and Karen L. Staples (Johnny) of Aynor, twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, one brother Joseph Joe E. McCutcheon of Florence, and numerous nieces and nephews. A quiet but strong leader who was an encourager to everyone she met. Truly she lived her life by her favorite scripture, Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home Tuesday, December 9, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Aynor First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Johnson and Rev. Wayne Revisky officiating. Burial will follow at the Aynor Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Harrelson officiating. Memorials may be sent to the Aynor First Baptist Church, PO Box 651 Aynor, SC 29511.
