    2. FLORENCE | Mr. Henry Earl Pridgen, 70, husband of Doris Ammons Pridgen, died Saturday, Mar. 4, 2006 at his residence after an illness. Mr. Pridgen was born July 25, 1935 in Marion County, a son of the late H.V. and Bessie Edwards Pridgen. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Co. as a service technician, after 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran. Mr. Pridgen was a former drag racer and a member of D.R.A.F. (Drag Racers Association of Florence). He was an avid NASCAR fan and a devoted Earnhardt fan. He was a member of several country music bands. Mr. Pridgen was a graduate of Rains High School. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and the Florence Moose Lodge. Mr. Pridgen was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Pridgen in addition to his wife of the home are a son, Ashley Pridgen and his wife, Wanda, of Darlington; a grandson, Erin Pridgen; a granddaughter, Allison Anderson; one great-grandchild; his brothers and sister, Larry Pridgen and his wife, Dianne G., Diane Pridgen Harrelson, and Micky Pridgen, all of Mullins; and his niece and nephews, David Pridgen, Kevin Pridgen, Melissa Gerald and Mitch Harrelson. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 7 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins, with the Rev. Darrell Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Micky Pridgen, 2872 Methodist Church Road in the Zion Community.
