MULLINS — Mrs. Rethea Cooper Poston, 85, widow of Daniel Jerome Poston, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, in Marion County Medical Center after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Hinson and Rev. Thad Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery of Dillon, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Mrs. Poston was born October 25, 1920, in Dillon County, a daughter of the late Charlie Tillman Cooper and the late Annie Bell Miles Cooper. She was a homemaker and a farmer. Mrs. Poston attended Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Poston are her children, Shirley Brown of Mullins, Jimmy Poston of Floydale, Nera Elvington of Charleston, Janet Brown of Florence, William Poston of Mullins, Jerry Poston of Floydale, Alice Cook of Dillon, Lois Polson of Dillon, Linda Sealey of Lake View, Vickie Brown of Marion, Margie Causey of Floydale, Michael Poston of Mullins, Johnny Poston of Mullins, David Poston of Florence, Harold Poston of Chesapeake, Va., Robert Poston of Latta, O’ Neal Poston of Mullins, Kim Poston of Floydale and Tony Poston of Mullins; 32 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Lafon Cooper of W.Va., Wendell Cooper of Marion, Andre Cooper of Fayetteville, N.C. and Glendale Cooper of Dillon; and 6 sisters, Lyniece Goodwin of Dillon, Eva Costello of San Pedro, California, Marie Franklin of Arkansas, Gladys Hyman of Lake View, Alma Elvington of Lake View and Bertha Owens of Mullins.
