MARION — Mr. William Issac Shelley, Jr., 75, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, after an illness. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4th, in the Chapel of Richardson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Born in Aynor, Mr. Shelley was the son of the late William I. Shelley and Lavania Chaplin Shelley. He was a member of Tranquil United Methodist Church. He was also a retired merchant and a Mason. Being an avid sportsman, he was the past president of Gunters Island Hunting Club. Mr. Shelley was a high school graduate and attended The Citadel. He was also a member of the US Air Force. Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Helen Baxley Shelley of the home; sister-in-law Bobbie Williamson and her husband, Tom; nephew, Allen Whittington and his wife, Stephanie; and special friends, Barbara and Earl Johnson and Edna Earl Rouse.
