NICHOLS — Mr. Carlyle William Taylor, 84, husband of Joyce Floyd Taylor, died Saturday, February 18, 2006, in Carolinas Hospital System in Florence. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21 in Riverside Cemetery with the Rev Bill Williams and the Rev. William Heustess officiating. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Mr. Taylor was born January 2, 1922, in Marion County, a son of the late John Henry Taylor, Sr. and the late Martha Willette Rogers Taylor. He was owner and operator of Dixie Laundry and Dry Cleaners for 52 years. Mr. Taylor was a member of the National Dry Cleaners Association and the Mullins Chamber of Commerce. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of Nichols American Legion Post #82 and Mullins VFW Post #6122. Mr. Taylor was a member of Nichols United Methodist Church. Surviving Mr. Taylor in addition to his wife of the home are 2 daughters, Ann Taylor of Charleston and Susan T. Causey and her husband, Alan, of Nichols; 3 grandchildren, William M. Causey and his wife, Paula, of Nichols, Stacey Causey of Nichols and Stephanie Causey of Nichols; a great-granddaughter, Taylor M. Causey of Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Riverside Cemetery Fund, c/o Regina Elliott, P.O. Box 212, Mullins, S.C. 29574 or to the memorial of one’s choice. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 til 8 p.m. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Susan and Alan Causey at 510 N. Main St., Nichols.
