    2. DARLINGTON — Charles F. Holden, 73, of Darlington, died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, in a Florence hospital. He was born in Marion, a son of the late James Noah and Irrie Turner Holden. He was a member of the Church of God in Ninety Six, a union representative of the Communications Workers of America, was employed by AT&T Western Electric, a member of Clinton Masonic Lodge No. 3 in Abbeville, a member of the Oasis Shrine in Charlotte, N.C., and an alumni board member of the John de la Howe Boys Home School in McCormick. He was a U.S.Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Poston Holden of the home; sons, Mark (Candy) Holden of Stanley, N.C., and Jason Holden of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers, Inell B. Holden of Orlando, Fla., and Dale Holden of Warner Robbins, Ga.; a sister, Helen Presley of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Blake Houston Holden and Hank Austin Holden; and stepchildren, Allen Poston, Jackie Ray Poston and Barry Poston, all of Florence, Danny Poston of Okinawa, Japan, and Anita McClanhan of Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital, c/o Oasis Shrine, Charlotte, N.C. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at McEwen Funeral Home East Morehead Chapel in Charlotte, N.C. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery in Charlotte, N.C. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home in Florence.
