NICHOLS — Mrs. Sarah Margaret Rogers Hammond, 87, widow of Manning J. Hammond, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was born November 14, 1921 in Marion County, a daughter of the late W. Duncan and Rosa Collins Rogers. Mrs. Hammond was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Surviving Mrs. Hammond are: 9 Nephews and Nieces; and 16 Great Nephews and Great Nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 24 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. David Harrelson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedardale Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
